Volgograd State Academy of Physical Culture was established in 1925 as a technical school for mid-level physical culture cadres, became an institute in 1960 offering higher education, and an academy in 1996. It offers day and distance learning programs with Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate, postgraduate courses, and professional retraining for specialists. The faculty consists of over 76% with academic degrees and titles, approximately 15% doctors of science and professors, and around 7% are Honored Workers of the Russian Federation. It has a modern educational infrastructure including a swimming pool, athletic stadium, equestrian center, and football field with natural grass, which is an inheritance from the 2018 World Championship.
