The University for Development Studies (UDS) was established on May 15th, 1992, with a single faculty at the Nyankpala campus. It is Ghana's first public university in the North, providing quality higher education and research to address societal problems, particularly in rural areas. UDS aims to blend academia with community for speedy development.
