About Universidad Mesoamericana de San Agustín
The University Mesoamericana de San Agustín (UMSA) was established in 1948 as the 'Academia de Estudios Contables' in Mérida. It changed its name to Colegio San Agustín in 1964. The institution began offering higher education programs in 1983 with degrees in Tourism and Law. UMSA aims to form citizens with a humanistic, scientific, critical thinking approach, encouraging active and responsible participation in society with an ethical and environmental mindset. Its vision is to offer accredited programs in virtual format, providing national reach and generating extension and community development proposals.
