Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) is a leading technical university in Russia, founded in 1896 as Tomsk Technical Institute of Practical Engineers by Emperor Nicholas II. It was the first engineering university in the Asian part of the country. Today TPU ranks among the top 10 universities in Russia and top 400 universities worldwide.
