St. Mary's College of Maryland is the nation's first standalone public honors college, designated by the Maryland Legislature in 1992 as the state’s public honors college. The college guarantees housing for four years, has a 10:1 student-to-faculty ratio, and provides opportunities for internships, research, and international experiences.
