Khulna University of Engineering & Technology was established as 'Khulna Engineering College' under the University of Rajshahi in 1967. After Bangladesh's independence, academic activities started again in 1974, and it became a faculty of Engineering under Rajshahi University. Over time, it has developed into a university with four faculties, 20 departments, and over 7000 students.
