The International Theravāda Buddhist Missionary University (ITBMU) is situated in Yangon, Myanmar, and was inaugurated in 1998 by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture. The university shares knowledge of Buddhism with the world to promote happiness and moral well-being. It offers academic programs including Theravāda Buddhist canonical texts and insight meditation in Myanmar tradition. The medium of instruction is English.
