Dalian University of Foreign Languages (DUFL) is a high-level applied foreign language university with distinctive characteristics in the Northeast Asia region. It was established in 1964 under the guidance of Zhou Enlai, and has gone through several name changes: Dalian Japanese Special School (1964), Dalian Chinese-Japanese Bilingual High School (1965-1970), Liaoning Foreign Language School (1970-2013), and finally Dalian University of Foreign Languages (since 2013).
