Bangladesh Maritime University is the first maritime university in Bangladesh, established by an Act of Parliament on October 27, 2013. It was renamed from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh on January 6, 2021. The university offers academic collaboration with universities abroad and focuses on intellectual property rights and patents.
