Religious Music and Folk Music

About this program

The Master's program in Religious Music and Folk Music (studies in Music), recently authorized by ARACIS, complements the generous academic offerings at the Orthodox Theology Faculty of the Alba Iulia University. Studies at the University level in the field of Music began in 2014 when the Orthodox Theology Faculty in Alba Iulia established a section for Religious Music. In 2019, the section was accredited, with each graduating class feeling an increasingly acute need for the opening of a master's program that would allow graduates to continue their studies. Many of our graduates have opted for a teaching career in pre-university education, the completion of master's level studies being necessary for them to be eligible for teaching positions in high school and post-secondary education. Additionally, the growing prestige of local musical formations requires continued perfection of their members, allowing them to reach a higher level of professionalism.
