About this program
A cathedral is a church that has a bishop’s seat (cathedra), making it the principal church of a diocese. These are places where communities go to seek God. But beyond that, cathedrals tell a story about world Christianity, the rise and fall of slavery, and the global empires and international conflicts that have shaped our world. Cathedrals transport us into the times of the Romans, the Vikings, Nazi attacks, and the end of Britain’s imperial power.
