The Department of Chemistry began as part of the College of Arts and Sciences when Al-Al Bayt University was established by Royal Decree in 1994. Initially equipped with limited facilities and a small number of students, it established labs for teaching and research, well-equipped. The department offers core and non-core specializations, as well as applied chemistry. The student receives a Bachelor's degree after successful completion of (132) approved hours.

Meeting local industries' needs, particularly the pharmaceutical industry by providing chemists, and many graduates have the ability to teach chemistry in schools at various levels.
