Business Data Science

About this program

This degree is unique as it's developed by both the Faculty of Business and Economics (FCEE) and the Faculty of Engineering at UM. The University of Malta's Bachelor's Degree in Business Data Science (BDS) equips students with the ability to analyze large volumes of data through a combination of strong mathematical, statistical, technological, and managerial knowledge. Students learn to understand and interpret the vast amount of business-generated data and identify often overlooked business opportunities. The aim is to convert information into a valuable asset for businesses, enabling them to make more efficient decisions and customized solutions for their clients. The program duration is four years (eight semesters). Career paths may include any company with substantial amounts of data looking to leverage it. These currently include banks, e-commerce businesses, digital product/service companies. University of London students completing any degree program from FCEE with advanced English level can simultaneously earn a degree from University of London. Degree options include BSc Finance and BSc Business and Management. The subjects are taught at UM, and after four years, both the University of Malta and University of London titles are obtained.
